Position Scope

As the Controls Engineer, you are responsible for the end-to-end development and delivery of controls and automation engineering packages and systems. This includes developing control narratives, alarm setpoint matrixes, cause and effect diagrams, and instrument selection based on Plant design and process requirements. Reporting to the Manager, Controls Engineering, expect to be on-site in Squamish, BC at least 3 days a week and more during testing.

Responsibilities

• Develop automation strategies and review process plant design packages
• Prepare control narratives, control loop lists, and more
• Identify new control systems that enhance the mechanical team's design
• Troubleshoot control system issues as needed
• Contribute to internal process improvement
• Participate in HAZOPs
• Respond to plant emergencies on an on-call basis

Key Competencies

• Understanding of PID, FF, and Cascade Loops
• Knowledge of electrical systems and design standards
• Experience with PLC/DCS systems and HMI/SCADA systems
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Education and Experience

• BSc in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• P.Eng registration in BC or eligibility is an asset
• Minimum 5 years of experience in PLC facilities automation strategies

Compensation

• Base Salary: $81,000 to $122,000
• Additional bonus pay included
