**BWXT's Nuclear Operations Group** in Lynchburg is currently seeking a Research Test Reactors (RTR) Lower Tier Process Engineering Technologist for its Lynchburg, VA location.

**Essential Functions & Responsibilities:**

  • Develop next-generation materials and fabrication methods related to current and future product processes and methods
  • Design and execute development workscopes independently and in teams
  • Propose and plan new scopes of work to support customer and company product and process objectives
  • Work with suppliers and customers to determine process capability limits
  • Support shop floor development operations, resolve fabrication issues, and generate process improvement ideas
  • Prepare operating procedures, drawings, and electronic shop floor routing documents
  • Prepare customer submittals to transmit information and plans
  • Assist with authoring reports documenting process material testing, structural analysis, and well-engineered solutions to problems
  • Participate and/or lead project teams to solve problems or initiate new projects
  • Perform other duties as assigned

**Required Qualifications:**

  • Associate's degree in a technical field plus eight (8) years of experience, or a high school diploma or equivalent plus ten (10) years of relevant experience
  • Superior written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented collaborative environment
  • Highly self-motivated and directed with keen attention to detail
  • Analytical and creative problem-solving abilities
  • U.S. Citizen with no dual citizenship
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance

**Preferred Qualifications:**

  • NOG L RTR manufacturing experience is preferred

**Pay:** $62,000 - $109,000

*Note: The base salary range for this position in Virginia, US, at the start of employment is expected to be between $62,000 and $109,000 per year. Actual salary offered may vary based on job market factors and individual candidate qualifications.*
