Senior Asset Manager Australia

Mission

Our Asset Management Department is looking for a Senior Asset Manager who will manage all Operation and Maintenance dimensions of the Collie Battery currently under construction and starting operation in October 2024 as well as the new assets added to the portfolio in the near future once in operation. The Asset management of these assets will be conducted in line with Neoen's strategic direction and in view of maintaining the highest value of the assets thanks to the maximization of their generated revenue and maintaining their operation capability over time. Consequently, the Asset Manager needs to oversee globally all the aspects relevant to the assets performance both from their technical and financial perspective.

The main responsibilities can be summarized as follows:

  • Support the Neoen operations teams, Operation Control Center, and broader Asset Management team in integrating the Western Australia Energy Market in Neoen's existing systems and monitoring infrastructures.
  • Develop the systems relevant to WA market contexts in line with Neoen Asset Management requirements to appropriately manage the Assets.
  • Follow registration aspects, O&M preparation, early generation monitoring, as well as manage the energy and certificates sales through to the relevant entities (AEMO, CER, Off-takers, etc.) during the construction phase.
  • Manage and act as Neoen representative with regards to the Capacity Services contract of Collie.
  • Provide assistance to the Development team for setting up O&M solutions, discuss with potential Contractors, other parties, or negotiating O&M agreements before Financial close of future projects.
  • Coordinate and liaise as required with local communities to ensure the continuity of the relations established throughout the assets development and construction period.
  • Supervise a few different asset locations, frequent travels will be required.
  • Supervise staff, O&M contractors, and external consultants involved in preparation and execution of the Operation and Maintenance activities.
  • Prepare the budget forecasts for the O&M and update them on a monthly basis based upon actuals provided by Neoen's finance department.
  • Prepare O&M reporting for Internal and external stakeholders in accordance with relevant agreements.
  • Ensure Workplace Health Safety and Environmental objectives are achieved.
  • Ensure operations and maintenance performance targets are achieved.
  • Ensure maintenance outcomes are achieved while fostering a planned maintenance culture.

The role may also involve in the early months support to the Head of Asset Management with regards to the current decommissioning and repurposing project of the Degrussa Solar Project. The position is based in Neoen's Perth office and reports to the Head of Asset Management. The role may involve regular travel to the Sydney and Canberra offices where the Operation Control center is located and to the Assets locations across WA.

Profile

The candidate will need the following skills and experience to succeed in this role:

  • Relevant Tertiary qualifications in the Engineering field.
  • Additional Business Project management qualification would be a plus.
  • Proven skills and experience in the supervision and coordination of operation and maintenance activities associated with renewable energy generation or similar operation.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of renewable energy plants and equipment such as solar or wind plants and associated electrical equipment, auxiliary plant, and high voltage infrastructure.
  • High-level troubleshooting and problem-solving skills and the ability to be technically innovative.
  • Contract management experience.
  • Demonstrated up-to-date working knowledge of Workplace Health Safety Environment requirements.
  • Excellent communication and liaison skills with the proven ability to effectively interact with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Effective leadership and supervision skills.
  • Effective planning and organizational skills.
  • Well-developed computer skills and proficiency in MS Office and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Autonomy.
