Lead Development Specialist in Adsorption
- Location: Zurich, Switzerland
- Job Type: Full-time or Part-time
**About Climeworks** Climeworks removes CO₂ from the air to fight global warming and protect future generations. We develop, build, and operate direct air capture (DAC) machines that capture CO₂ directly from the air and store it underground permanently. Founded in 2009, Climeworks aims to inspire 1 billion people to remove CO₂ from the air and is a pioneer in the DAC industry with the world's largest DAC facility in operation.
**Your Mission** As a Lead Development Specialist in Adsorption at Climeworks, your responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing novel adsorption process concepts for Climeworks' DAC technology
- Leading targeted measurement campaigns to support advanced modeling capabilities and dynamic models application
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in testing material development, process engineering, product design, and more
- Conducting optimization studies of adsorption-desorption process design parameters
- Managing collaborations with internal and external partners to enhance the fundamental understanding of Climeworks' DAC process
- Mentoring and training junior team members and contributing new ideas to improve Climeworks' IP portfolio
**Your Story** To qualify for this role, you should have:
- A PhD in process engineering, chemical engineering, or a related discipline
- Advanced knowledge in adsorption thermodynamics or separation processes
- Minimum of 10 years of industrial experience in a similar role
- Hands-on experience in designing and testing adsorption systems
- Familiarity with sorbent characterization methods
- Fluency in English (German is beneficial but not required)
