**Project Engineering Manager** - Zurich, Switzerland

Climeworks removes CO2 from the air to fight global warming and protect future generations. We develop, build, and operate direct air capture (DAC) machines which capture CO2 directly from the air. The captured carbon dioxide is safely stored underground, permanently removing it from the atmosphere. Founded in 2009, Climeworks has a mission to inspire 1 billion people to remove CO2 from the air and is now leading the DAC industry globally. We have the world's largest DAC facility and storage installation in operation and a team of over 300 employees determined to contribute to a net-zero future.

**Your mission:**

Your mission at Climeworks is to successfully lead Climeworks' technical project team to ensure a seamless execution of DAC plants from conceptual through Pre-FEED, FEED, and Detail engineering. You will support the development of the European-based engineering team while ensuring that all technical interfaces between the engineering team and project partners are clearly defined and properly delivered. You will partner with our program and project managers and subcontractors to optimize plant performance according to pre-defined metrics. You will establish and maintain a safety culture to ensure safe and compliant operation. Within a project, you will manage a world-class engineering team in collaboration with relevant program and project managers. You will oversee DAC plant engineering and delivery projects in alignment with Climeworks' strategic objectives. You will contribute to building and maintaining lean processes and tools for the engineering organization.

**Requirements:**

  • Completed university degree in Engineering
  • 10 years of experience in engineering management, successfully leading collocated and remote technical teams, contractors, and suppliers in the refining, chemical, petro-chemical, and/or renewables industries sectors
  • 5 years of field experience in the process or energy industries
  • Technical leadership knowledge in large-scale process industry projects (preferably)
  • Experience working in an EPC environment, managing EPCs
  • Experience working with project groups in all project phases and with full-life cycle costs and project scoping
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, ability to manage and influence stakeholders
  • Fluent in English (German would be a plus)
  • Willing and able to travel up to 20%
