We are looking for a Full stack Java Groovy Software Engineer to join our fast-growing team. One Click LCA is a Helsinki-based tech company decarbonizing construction and manufacturing with world-leading easy-to-use and automated life cycle assessment that helps to calculate and reduce the environmental impacts of building infrastructure and renovation projects. It also enables manufacturers to generate and publish third-party verified EPDs and allows assessment of circularity, life cycle cost, and biodiversity. It is used in over 170 countries, includes a unique global database, and supports 80 standards and certifications.

You'll join a supportive, effective, and mission-oriented team in a flexible, friendly work environment. You'll be working with cutting-edge tools and a team of world-class professionals around the globe to solve one of the world's biggest challenges. This role is based in Helsinki. We support hybrid work mode, but for efficient communication with the teammates, you should be able to come to our office in Helsinki for 2-3 days a week. English proficiency is required. Finnish is not.

What you'll do

• Design and develop new functions, components, services, and their integrations
• Investigate and implement solutions to complex technical problems
• Deliver good quality maintainable code
• Investigate and fix technical issues and improvement opportunities
• Review code from other developers and identify areas of improvement
• Contribute to design decisions in cooperation with others
• Write documentation, contribute to application releases and maintenance
• Closely collaborate with Product Managers and other engineers

What you need

• You are a self-starter who can take the initiative to find solutions and get results
• You have at least 3 years of experience in server-based Java Spring architectures
• Mandatory technologies/skills: ORM, MongoDB, unit testing, basics of JavaScript, REST API
• Familiarity with best coding practices, performance optimization, and code efficiency
• You are not scared of both complex legacy code refactoring and rewriting it in a modern tech landscape
• Not mandatory but seen as a plus: Groovy, React, TypeScript, AWS, Docker, Microservices
• You are able to contribute clean working code into an existing large-scale system
• Attention to detail
