Engineering Transportation Director

Like building new things? The third largest city in San Mateo County, Redwood City serves a population of 86,754 in the heart of the Silicon Valley. The City prides itself on having a strong employment base with world-class businesses and a vibrant pedestrian-friendly downtown. As a result of a recent organizational assessment, the City recently formed an Engineering Transportation Department and is searching for its first Director to lead a team of 24 FTE and a work program with more than $50 million in FY 2023-24 capital projects.

Redwood City is seeking an experienced engineering and/or transportation professional with proven success managing and delivering results for ambitious Capital Improvement Programs. At least five (5) years of progressively responsible engineering and/or transportation experience, including two (2) years in a supervisory/lead capacity, and a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a relevant discipline is desirable. A Master's degree and/or registration as a CA professional civil engineer is preferred.
