**Description**

BGS is seeking a Structural Engineer to join our team at the Y 12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge TN, which provides integral mission support to the NNSA. Boston Government Services (BGS) is an engineering technology and security firm helping to advance missions of national importance for government programs, national laboratories, national security facilities, nuclear operations, and complex projects.

**Responsibilities**

• Building evaluations and modifications, seismic analyses, and rehab oversight of outside engineering firms and machine installations
• Develop structural designs including drawings, plans, sections, and details for various materials of construction
• Provide design verifications, squad checks, input to system engineers, and other plant customers
• Perform walkdowns in existing plant facilities to generate design documents and provide field support to craft personnel

**Qualifications Requirements**

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited school with a minimum of 5 years of experience
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Familiarity with ASME, NQA 1, CSA related issues, Conduct of Engineering, and Conduct of Operations
• Must be a US citizen and eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance badge

**Preferred Qualifications**

• Active Q Clearance
• 20 plus years of relevant professional experience
• Experience in an NRC or DOE regulated environment
• CAD drafting experience (preferred)
• Structural modelling experience with STAAD Pro and GT STRUDL (preferred)
