Job description
We are currently looking for a Public Affairs Communications Senior Manager in our External Affairs team. As we continue to revolutionize the food industry through fermentation products, this position will play a pivotal role in shaping external perceptions, influencing policy outcomes, countering misinformation, and building relationships crucial to our long-term success. Responsibilities
Public Affairs/Government Relations
Monitor legislative and regulatory developments, analyze their potential impact on Formo, and develop strategic responses
Engage with EU policymakers and German government officials to shape regulatory environments and policies favorable to Formo's growth and innovation
Represent the company in relevant industry associations, coalitions, and working groups to advance shared objectives and priorities
Draft position papers and other advocacy material
Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to advocate for favorable policies and regulations supporting micro-fermentation and precision fermentation products
Identify opportunities to advocate for favorable policies and regulations supporting the development and commercialization of such products
Corporate Communications
Develop and execute corporate communication strategies aligned with the company's mission and values
Ensure clear, consistent messaging across all communication channels including press releases, website content, and social media platforms
Craft and position Op-eds, CEO interviews, and more
Secure relevant public speaking opportunities and work to get our messages across
Enhance the company's reputation and credibility by effectively communicating achievements, milestones, and industry insights
Public Relations
Lead strategic public relations initiatives to generate positive media coverage and visibility for the company
Secure media placements, manage press inquiries, and leverage media opportunities to amplify the company's message and reach
Support talent acquisition, investor relations, and partnership development efforts through effective PR campaigns
Job requirements
- Degree in Political Science, Communications, Business, or related fields
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in public affairs, government relations, or corporate communications, preferably within the agri-food or biotech industry
- Background that includes employment of institutions such as Communications and Political advisory agencies, Members of Parliament, government authorities, NGOs, or Think Tanks, as well as private sector in-house communications and public affairs teams
- Proven track record of successfully influencing policy outcomes and shaping regulatory environments for game-changing innovation
- Track record in media relations, working with journalists and opinion shapers to create buzz around exciting and disruptive technologies
- Strong network of contacts within EU policymakers, German government officials, and relevant stakeholders in the field of agri-food policy and media
- Experience in developing and executing 360-degree strategic communication plans that align with organizational goals and values, and exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment and adapt to evolving priorities and challenges
- Passion for sustainability, innovation, and revolutionizing the food industry through fermentation products
