**Location:** Beijing, China **Job Term:** Full Time
POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for performing field service activities at customer sites. Field service activities include installing, upgrading, maintaining, servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing Picarro products. A Field Service Engineer represents Picarro to the customers with confidence and assumes accountability for customer satisfaction with service.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide installations, training, upgrading, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs
- Provide technical assistance, consultation, and problem-solving
- Assist customers and partners from simple requests for documentation to detailed instrumentation troubleshooting
- Analyze and critically evaluate customer data to determine instrument health, proper experiment setup, and provide guidance to customers on these issues
- Accurately document service activities including installations and service reports
- Establish after-sales service and technical support system including service process, technical documents creation and management, customer information management, demo unit inventory, and spare parts management
- Support customer demonstrations and pre-sales support activities as needed
- Pre-sales activities for Service plans, training, and spare parts
- Work closely with team members to solve problems effectively
- Share experience and best practices of services applications
- Communicate competitive information and additional sales opportunities
- Ensure customer issues are accurately and timely communicated to the required parties, solutions developed, and solved
- Implement key account strategies for high-profile customers and maintain good relationships with key opinion leaders
- Ensure customer satisfaction in all aspects of services provided
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree or above in optical engineering, instrumentation engineering, analytical chemistry, or equivalent required
- 3 years working knowledge of analytical instrumentation
- Preference will be given to those with 3 years Field Service experience installing, servicing, and sales of analytical instrumentation
- Ability to diagnose and resolve problems on complex electronic, mechanical, and optical instrumentation in a commercial scientific laboratory environment
- Customer-focused, ability to build long-term relationships
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills
- Versatility, flexibility, and willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
- Work independently, make necessary decisions, and follow through with action plans
- Excellent interpersonal and listening skills
- Excellent English and Chinese language skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to travel 60% throughout Greater China
