About the Job

The Customs Clearance Manager will manage the application process of FTZ (Foreign Trade Zone) for the raw materials of our solar products, while also monitoring the entries into and out of the FTZ, and providing support and coordination to Department of Commerce and CBP as needed.

What you’ll be doing

  • Complete the application process of FTZ (Foreign Trade Zone) for the raw materials of solar products.
  • Monitor entries into and out of the FTZ, maintaining the status of FTZ.
  • Process the entries with Customs broker to eliminate/defer/lower the regular/special duty/MPF/Inventory Tax for the FTZ.
  • Strategize Tariff Structure and stay up to date with tariff 203, 301, 232, Anti-Dumping and Countervailing Duties in solar.
  • Review the documents of import and export business, ensure the accuracy of customs declaration documents, ensure the smooth implementation of customs declaration of import and export materials, track the whole process of customs clearance of import and export goods, timely handle the problems in the process of customs clearance, and improve the efficiency of customs declaration.
  • Timely handle permits required in the process of customs clearance of import and export goods, conduct follow-up supervision according to the requirements for the use of certificates, and timely complete the monthly report and various material data statistics forms required by relevant departments.
  • Strictly monitor the circulation of bonded materials and finished products, prevent the use of bonded materials and finished products for non-processing trade, and avoid the loss of bonded materials and finished products. Regularly train the internal personnel of the factory on the customs regulations on bonded goods and improve the management level of all employees on bonded materials.
  • Keep good communication with the customs and other government agencies, know the latest import and export related laws and regulations, make use of relevant preferential policies leaders’ the company continuously, and complete other work arranged by department leaders

Your Qualifications

  • 3 Years + work experience in the customs related area. Be familiar with the import and export
  • Be capable of handling UFLPA inquiries and compliance from CBP if any
  • Previous experience setting up FTZ
  • Must have the ability to simulate the tariff and duties
  • Previous experience working with the Department of Commerce and CBP
  • Familiar with MS Office ERP and E Custom Clearance Software
  • Renewable Energy industry experience is a plus
  • Ability to speak Mandarin is a plus but not required
  • Competency in Microsoft Office application
  • Enthusiasm for the Renewable Energy industry

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, education, skills, and experience. Additional discretionary incentive may be available. Full-time employees are eligible for PTO, medical, dental and vision coverage, 401(k) plan and flexible spending accounts, subject to plan terms.
