Job Purpose

Water conservation is a top priority in Colorado, and our popular Slow the Flow program has saved over 170 million gallons of water in its twenty-year history. As a Water Conservation Associate, you will contribute significantly to this program by conducting sprinkler system assessments and offering recommendations to reduce water usage on lawns. This field-based role requires daily travel to appointments and exceptional customer service skills. The position begins on June 3, 2024, and is expected to continue through August or September 2024. Compensation includes $18.50/hour, mileage reimbursement, cell phone stipend, training, and paid sick leave.

Principal Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

• Conducting sprinkler system checkups at residential, commercial, and other properties
• Traveling to appointment locations daily (mileage reimbursement provided)
• Testing sprinkler systems, adjusting sprinkler heads, and making efficiency improvements
• Programming sprinkler control clocks for optimal watering schedules
• Educating property owners on outdoor water conservation best practices
• Participating in meetings both in person and virtually
• Supporting other Resource Central programs as assigned
• Fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion in all activities

Qualifications

• Passion for water conservation
• Strong customer service skills and positive attitude
• Minimum 18 years of age at start date
• Valid driver's license, automobile insurance, reliable vehicle, and smartphone
• Successful background check and driving record evaluation (if offered the position)
• Comfort with working in the Front Range area, with potential travel requirements
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and perform physical tasks outdoors in various weather conditions
• Experience in landscaping, sprinklers, or sustainability is a plus
