Vestas Power Solutions (VPS) is where new product ideas are developed, matured, improved, and tested. Within Vestas Power Solutions (VPS), you'll find our department, Reference Designation System (RDS), as part of Standardization team.
The Standardization Team operates globally, with key hubs in Denmark, India, and Portugal. We spearhead efforts to define and drive short and long-term business performance goals, ensuring alignment across platforms, modules, sub-modules, and value chains. Our focus lies in fostering standardized and modularized products to optimize operational efficiency.
Our team is tasked with delivering essential business and capability offerings, including Standardization and Parts Management, Reference Designation Systems (RDS), Materials and Coatings Management, and External Standards & Standards within Vestas. By maximizing the value Vestas brings to stakeholders, we actively contribute to the company's growth.

Responsibilities
As a Systems Engineering Specialist, your primary focus will be on the RDS system. Your responsibilities include:

  • Defining and maintaining common product structures and Engineering BOM structure for Vestas' wind turbine portfolio, involving key stakeholders across the value chain
  • Developing and driving the strategy roadmap to implement short-term and long-term business strategic goals
  • Delivering and enhancing engineering capabilities to ensure the delivery of high-quality, sustainable products, and services to customers
  • Creating and implementing governance and processes to steer organizations in adopting industry standard RDS throughout the value chain
  • Cultivating expert knowledge within your area of responsibilities and establishing guidelines and best practices to support Vestas' operations
  • Actively engaging in standardization groups and collaborating across industry forums to contribute to the future development of the RDS system

Qualifications
We are seeking an ideal candidate with the following qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering within disciplines such as Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics or related fields
  • Background in engineering encompassing product design, with expertise in product structures, systems, functions, and component knowledge. Substantial relevant engineering experience, particularly in either Electrical design or Mechanical design
  • Experience in product configuration and familiarity with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Service BOM structure
  • Proficiency with Reference Designation System (RDS) and familiarity with relevant standards such as ISO/IEC 81346 (all parts) and VGB guideline S832 (T32)
  • Previous involvement in engineering and driving capability development improvement initiatives
  • Knowledge of PLM systems and tools, such as PTC Windchill and PDMLink, among others
  • Experience with Standardization methodology and principles (beneficial)
