About the role:

As a Compliance Engineer, you will be a member of our international development and compliance experts to direct the design, operation, test, and certify AC/DC and Bi-Directional EV charging systems for installation around the world.

What you will do:

  • Manage and support EV charging equipment and system designs with internal teams covering regulatory and certification requirements, safety, EMC, environmental accuracy, production, and installation.
  • Develop prototype engineering validation and certification test plans.
  • Write product test reports and maintain all compliance technical documents.
  • Create and manage test plans with internal and external test labs to validate product design and performance specifications.
  • Develop internal labs capabilities to perform validation and certification testing.
  • Create laboratory test specifications and procedures.
  • Define, plan, prepare, set up, and perform validation and certification tests.
  • Work with team members in the specification and planning of future test equipment purchases.
  • Participate in validation and certification tests at internal, subcontracted, or third-party labs according to the test plans.
  • Manage worldwide certification efforts with external agencies such as UL, CSA, BV, DEKRA.
  • Support operations in meeting their obligations for production line testing, quality labeling, and record keeping as it pertains to safety and meter certification.
  • Monitor relevant standards and communicate changes that affect the designs of the product hardware and software and changes validation or certification test or test program.

Who you are and what you bring:

  • Fluency in English language, both written and verbal (mandatory).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor's in physics or Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering.
  • 5 years related experience in electric vehicle charging systems preferred.
  • Demonstrated success driving tangible impact influencing within a broader organization.
  • Highly collaborative, team-oriented, and comfortable leading cross-functional projects.
  • High level of initiative and work ethic.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and flexible to change.
  • Comfortable working in international cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to travel as needed (1-2 weeks per event).
  • Hands-on experience with testing electrical equipment to national and international safety and EMC certification standards in accordance with installation codes.

**Bonus:**

  • 5 years related experience in EV charging industries.
  • Familiar with UL 2594, CSA C22.2 No. 280, ANCE NMX-J-677, ANCE 2016.
  • Familiar with UL 2231-1, CSA C22.2 No. 281.2, NMX-J-668.1, ANCE, and UL 2231-2, CSA C22.2 No. 281.1, NMX-J-668.2, ANCE.
  • Familiar with UL 991 and UL 1998, CSA C22.2 No. 0.8.
  • Familiar with ANSI C12.20.
  • Familiar with CE Declaration process requirements.
  • Familiar with EN/IEC 61851 series of standards.
  • Familiar with MessEV, MessEG.
  • Familiar with EN 50470-1/2/3, EN 61010, EN 62052-11/31, EN 62053-21/23, and VDE AR-E 2802-10-1.

The base pay range for this position is $105,000 to $150,000 per year. This salary range may be modified in the future. The successful candidate's starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, education or training, work location, and market conditions. This position is also eligible for bonus, equity, and benefits.
