Job Description

Decision making and motion planning are the primary responsibilities of mobile robots. Taking input from a variety of perception and localization systems, the planner's job is to figure out where the robot is going and how to get there safely.
A key piece of building this complex software is measuring its performance. As a software engineer for autonomy metrics, you will use vehicle and simulation data to help our developers understand how the vehicle is driving. You should be passionate about developing innovative metrics for driving behavior and/or system performance that support decisions, direct efforts, and provide clarity. ### Qualifications

  • Experience in a data-focused role, performing analyses that inform decision making
  • Strong Python skills for moving and analyzing data
  • Experience with real-time algorithms
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to make arguments via data, metrics, and their presentation

Bonus Qualifications

  • Proficient in C++, R, or Spark
  • Strong statistics background
  • Motion planning or robotics background
  • Passion for vehicles, mobile robots, and/or autonomy
  • MS or PhD in a related field Compensation There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary will range from $163,000 to $234,000. A sign-on bonus may be part of a compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
