Sensor Software Developer

Zoox is seeking a highly skilled and experienced software developer to join our team. The Core Sensors team is a specialized group responsible for developing the drivers for the lidar, radar, and camera sensors on the vehicle. This suite of sensors serves as the input to the perception and planning stack and is fundamental to the autonomous driving capabilities of our robot platform.### Responsibilities

• You will have a strong background in software development and be able to design, implement, and maintain high-quality, robust code that meets the vehicle's specific use/safety case.
• You will develop and maintain driver software for lidar, radar, and camera sensors
• You will work closely with the perception, planning, and advanced hardware teams to ensure the drivers meet the required specifications
• You will develop and maintain highly performant, robust, safety-critical code
• You will collaborate with other teams to ensure the sensor software integrates seamlessly with the autonomous driving stack and offline tool pipelines

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Strong proficiency in C++ programming language
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development
• Experience with developing drivers for lidar, radar, or camera sensors
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work in a collaborative team environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Linux networking and debugging network-related issues
• Experience with real-time, low-latency, safety-critical systems
• Interest in exploring and developing new sensor modalities Compensation There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary range for this position is $164,000 to $265,000. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
