**Role:** Let's start off by giving you some charcoal sketches of our team. Currently, the Carbyon team consists of 44 individuals from 11 different countries. Broadly, there are two main teams: the team working on the sorbent (the material that adsorbs carbon dioxide) and the machine development team which creates the machine to capture carbon dioxide. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be part of the Software Team, focusing on design, development, and deployment of embedded machine control software.

**Responsibilities:**

• Collaborate with other disciplines to translate product requirements into subsystem software requirements
• Translate architectural concepts from design into scalable implementations of machine functionality
• Design and establish foundational software layers ensuring seamless integration and operation
• Contribute to an environment that enables software testing to maintain high standards of quality and reliability
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and propose improvements relevant to embedded software engineering
• Be an inspirational leader to junior software engineers

**Job requirements:**

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Embedded Systems or Electrical Engineering
• 10 years of industry experience
• Expertise in architectural design, embedded device software engineering, and integration into IoT platforms
• Proven track record in designing robust and scalable software solutions
• Experience with machine development
• Outstanding communication skills
• Fluency in English
