Project Controller - 80-100, Zurich, Switzerland
Ready to join a team of visionaries dedicated to solving one of humankind's greatest challenges? Get to know Climeworks.
Climeworks removes CO₂ from the air to fight global warming and protect future generations. We develop, build, and operate direct air capture (DAC) machines that capture CO₂ directly from the air. The captured carbon dioxide is removed from the air by safely storing it underground permanently.
Founded in 2009 by engineers Christoph Gebald and Jan Wurzbacher, Climeworks' mission is to inspire 1 billion people to remove CO₂ from the air. The company is now spearheading the DAC industry globally, with the world's largest DAC facility and storage installation in operation, and a team of over 300 Climeworkers determined to contribute to a net-zero future.
A true climate pioneer, Climeworks is featured as a TIME100 Influential Company 2022 and a Global Cleantech 100 Company 2022, driving a revolutionary technology to solve the most pressing issue of our time.
We foster a dynamic environment and are building a global, purpose-driven team. We are looking for disruptive thinkers, passionate achievers, and inspiring leaders ready to take on the world's greatest challenge. Will you join us?
Your mission:
**Job description:** In this high-impact role, your mission at Climeworks will be to control one or few large multidisciplinary system integration programs and several smaller key R&D projects to ensure smooth integration of various project plans. You are responsible for setting up and maintaining development validation and delivery timelines, identifying gaps, and coming up with solutions to mitigate clashes by interacting with Project Managers and System Integration Leads. You create project progress reports, dashboards, and make recommendations for improvements. You track the overall program's budget, including gathering information about the cost of the Product Systems we are developing internally and through contractors. You review and challenge schedules prepared by contractors or other internal team members for resource and cost loading, activity durations, schedule logic, float allocation, and critical path identification. You lead the development and continuous improvement of our project control methodologies. You support reporting duties for any project control-related topics and escalate issues to Project Managers and System Integration Leads. You work with multiple engineering disciplines and understand the interdependencies between them, as well as the impact that each engineering deliverable can have on other disciplines.
Your story:
**Requirements:**
- University degree within a scientific or engineering discipline.
- At least five years of experience in a similar position (Planning, Cost Control, Estimating), and at least eight years of professional experience overall.
- Demonstrated experience in working on large, organized, fast-paced, high-stake projects, preferably in R&D NPI projects TRL4-7.
- Proficient user of MS Office Package and project scheduling tools (MS Project), but flexible to work with more agile and collaborative tools.
- Proactive, autonomous, and comfortable with fast-paced environments where decisions need to be taken quickly.
- Business fluent in English.
What we offer:
A horizontal organization, a great team, an improvement-oriented approach, and a scale-up venture with innovative technology.
Sounds like you? We are looking forward to meeting you. Apply now by filling in the online application form and uploading your complete dossier to our careers portal.
**Our promise:** At Climeworks, you are accepted for who you are. As part of our ongoing journey towards creating a diverse and inclusive environment, we encourage everyone to apply. All qualified applicants are considered for positions, so bring along your knowledge, personal experiences, and fresh perspectives, and together we can solve one of humankind's greatest challenges. We look forward to getting to know you.
**Disclaimer:** The percentage in the job title means that for this vacancy, you can decide if you want to be employed on a full-time or part-time basis, depending on what works best for your needs. We don't accept candidate profiles from agencies for our positions.
