What The Role Is

Reporting to the Sr. Director Project Development, the Manager Project Development is responsible for the development of wind, solar, and energy storage projects in the East region as a key member of a regional team charged with the development and execution of construction of Clearway Energy Group’s solar, wind, and storage project pipeline across PJM, ISO-NE, and NYISO. The position will lead the development of a portfolio of projects and will work with various teams across the full project lifecycle required to bring projects to successful commercial operation. Candidates should have prior professional renewable energy project development experience across project siting, land and real estate, regulatory and environmental permitting, interconnection and transmission, and power marketing. Candidates should also have experience with engineering procurement and construction (EPC) engagement. Preferred experience includes developing projects in multiple technologies and experience in PJM, ISO-NE, and/or NYISO, as well as successful project financing processes. This position may be remote, with a strong preference for candidates based within or proximate to the Clearway's East Region.

What You'll Be Doing

• Develop and maintain industry relationships, contacts, and knowledge of the current market to facilitate proactive development.
• Manage and execute the development of large-scale renewable energy projects from proposal to construction handover.
• Identify creative project development approaches to reduce risks and optimize schedules.
• Lead critical project contracts and agreements, including PPAs, equipment supply agreements, and EPC contracts.
• Support financing diligence efforts for projects.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external consultants.
• Create and manage project budgets and schedules.
• Lead internal project stage gate reviews and investment decisions.

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, economics, finance, environmental science, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the renewable energy industry in the U.S.
• Experience in full life cycle development of utility scale solar and/or wind projects.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to manage simultaneous projects, set priorities, and exercise independent judgment.
• Ability to travel as required.
• Understanding of governmental mandates, environmental regulations, and customer market signals impacting renewable projects in the East Region.
• Strong critical thinking skills, risk mitigation capacity, and project facet understanding.
• Familiarity with land development, landowner engagement, contracting, and real estate elements.

Additional Details

• Clearway will not sponsor nonimmigrant visas for this position.
• Salary Range Across all U.S. Locations: $130,000 - $170,000 USD.
• Eligible for an annual cash bonus subject to personal and company performance goals.
