Job Description

CrossBoundary Advisory is seeking an intern Analyst to be based in one of its offices in Africa (Johannesburg, Lagos, Nairobi, or Dakar). The ideal candidate will have an interest in and understanding of underserved markets in Africa, renewable energy technologies, and the investment landscape. As an intern Analyst at CrossBoundary, you will be responsible for identifying and evaluating investment opportunities, conducting market assessments, and providing transaction support to investors and capital seekers. This internship offers a flexible start time and may lead to a full-time offer for successful candidates.

Who You Are

  • A self-starter passionate about driving change in frontier markets
  • Experience living and/or working in underserved markets or Africa is highly preferred
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills with the ability to structure problems logically
  • Familiarity with fundraising processes and investor due diligence
  • Excellent relationship-building skills under pressure
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver high-quality results
  • Enthusiastic about working, traveling, and living in challenging environments
  • Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
  • Comfortable in a Business English environment

Primary Responsibilities

  • Conduct market assessments, primarily in the renewable energy sector
  • Engage with cleantech companies, business associations, DFIs, and government offices to identify investment opportunities
  • Provide macroeconomic, regulatory, and operational assessments
  • Support sector analysis for priority investment areas
  • Assist in investor sourcing and transaction support
  • Organize conferences and networking events
