Recurrent Energy Careers Intern Project - Construction Management

**Recurrent Energy** is currently seeking a **PAID Summer 2024 intern** to support their **Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC)** efforts on the Construction Management team. This position will specifically focus on supporting construction efforts across a pipeline of projects targeting wholesale power markets in North America. The internship will cover the Summer term and is flexible with start/end dates, with the opportunity to extend on a part-time basis into the fall semester/quarter. This internship provides an opportunity to join an industry-leading team, contribute to management decision-making, and help grow the business.

Job Description

**Functional Title:** Intern - Construction Project Management **FLSA Status:** Exempt **Functional Area:** EPC **Grade:** Intern

**Summary** The intern will be responsible for supporting EPC efforts in Construction Management. Key responsibilities include managing internal meetings, handling sub-contractor RFIs and submittals, monitoring construction project progress, and assisting with document management. The intern will work closely with the design team, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of projects. The internship will provide valuable experience in the renewable energy industry.

**Principal Responsibilities**

  • Managing internal meetings by taking meeting minutes and distributing them as needed
  • Managing sub-contractor RFIs and submittals
  • Monitoring construction project progress and ensuring conformance to contracts
  • Assisting the Project Manager in preparing reports related to cost, schedule, risk, logistics, and performance
  • Assisting with document management from EPCs
  • Supporting the PM/CM with their list of duties
  • Organizing project documents in E-Builder per project requirements
  • Coordinating with the Owner's Engineer and providing support to the project team
  • Collecting documents for the Independent Engineer
  • Other related tasks as assigned

**Financial/Organizational Scope**

  • No direct financial responsibility
  • Reports to Head of Construction Management
  • Works cross-functionally and collaboratively with the EPC team
  • Interfaces with third-party engineering service providers and subcontractors

**Requirements**

  • Demonstrated interest in a career in renewable energy, specifically in construction project management or asset development
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Project, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Primavera P6 v7 or Microsoft Project is a plus
  • Strong quantitative aptitude with a high level of attention to detail
  • Strong sense of personal responsibility and ownership of work product
  • Excellent personal organizational skills
  • Highly resourceful and comfortable working in an unstructured, entrepreneurial environment

**Experience/Education**

  • Minimum of 2 years of coursework working towards a Bachelor's degree or any amount of coursework/experience working towards a Graduate or MBA degree
  • Pursuing a degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related field is desired

**Other Comments** Priority will be given to candidates who can work in a flexible hybrid model from one of our offices in Austin or Guelph, Canada
