Job Description

We're seeking a Senior Energy Engineer with prior utility master planning experience to serve as the National Energy Planning Lead for our Energy and Power Solutions Group. Our preferred candidate should have an extensive depth and breadth of expertise in energy master planning, particularly regarding decarbonization and resiliency, and apply their experience in the industry to address today's challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Develop plans for federal agencies, university campuses, cities, municipals, airports, and other large energy users
  • Core competencies in energy and water conservation, onsite generation and storage, system efficiency, district energy, microgrids, infrastructure resilience, and control systems
  • Evaluate and model system demand, onsite generation, and potential supply strategies using analysis tools and proprietary software applications
  • Lead a team in analyzing client goals related to decarbonization, resiliency, and life cycle costs to recommend innovative solutions
  • Mentor staff and build and maintain client relationships
  • Act as a champion for the culture of caring at Jacobs

Requirements

  • B.S. in Engineering or related discipline
  • Professional Registration P.E.
  • Experience in energy or utilities master planning
  • Successful track record of technical quality management within project constraints
  • Travel ability required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Net Zero Planning
  • Stakeholder engagement and goal setting
  • Proposal support and business development
  • Experience developing analytic tools
