Job Description : Corporate Paralegal

Spruce Power, a leading provider of solar energy to over 53,000 customers, is seeking a Senior Paralegal to join its legal team in the Company’s Denver Office. Primary responsibilities will include maintaining corporate records, drafting and reviewing legal documents, conducting legal research, managing docketing, and helping our lawyers with corporate, commercial and litigation matters. Candidates should have a working knowledge of the U.S. legal system and a desire to be a team player in a tight-knit legal team.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The responsibilities of this position are as follows:

· Review legal contracts and assist lead attorney in resolving contractual disputes

· Assist lead attorney in preparation for hearings and trials including review of legal memos, motions, contracts, discovery requests, and other documents as needed

· Complete investigations and factual fact-finding on consumer solar accounts

· Create and manage all litigation deadlines and tracking on behalf of lead attorney

· Edit and review corporate records as needed

· Perform a variety of administrative tasks and support for lead attorney

· Participate in the review of corporate policies and procedures

· Provide continuing assistance on legal disputes and solar customer escalations

· Assist lead attorney with document reviews and maintenance of corporate records

· Successfully complete special projects and other assignments as requested

· Prepare and review documents in response to discovery requests

· Draft, edit, and review corporate records as needed

· Perform other duties as required

· Prepare and review confidentiality agreements with attorney supervision

SKILLS OR EXPERIENCE

Candidates should possess the following experience and skills:

· Ability to interact with people at all levels of the corporate structure in a respectful and professional manner

· Ability to prioritize and handle numerous competing demands in a high-volume, fast-paced working environment

· Proven ability to work independently and effectively

· Robust moral judgment and understanding of acceptable workplace conduct

· Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of third-party contacts including vendors, affiliates, business associates, and existing/potential business partners

· Excellent at multi-tasking and tracking litigation deadlines

· Anticipate support needs of attorney across a variety of corporate legal matters

· Manage various legal department projects and initiatives

· Identify and resolve or escalate issues in a timely manner

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Word, Excel and Power Point

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

· Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as paralegal studies, legal studies, or business law; paralegal certification a plus

· Minimum three years of experience as a paralegal or a legal assistant

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

· Working knowledge of legal terminology and legal writing

· Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills

· Ability to work effectively in a team environment

· Proficiency with legal research tools such as Westlaw and LexisNexis

COMPENSATION RANGE

· $85,000 - $100,000/year based on experience and education
