About the Role
Great Britain's electricity system is undergoing an ambitious, exciting, and vital transformation. Together with the industry, we are creating a cleaner, greener system that protects the planet and serves generations to come. This role is within the Gas and Whole Energy Network Development (GWEND) team, which is part of the Strategic Energy Planning (SEP) directorate in NESO. The team provides support and advice throughout both SEP and NESO and acts as a go-to resource for internal and external stakeholders, understanding the whole energy system and how it is considered within GWEND, SEP, and NESO. This is your opportunity to learn about the core of the energy transition, engage with cross-vector analysis and optimization, and grow a competency at the heart of the energy transition. This role can be based in Wokingham or Warwick, offering hybrid working options.

Key Accountabilities
- Lead cohesive intelligence and analysis for an assigned sector, cluster, or vector.
- Conduct detailed analysis of energy systems, assess efficiency, reliability, and performance.
- Adhere to analytical and research standards, including project management guidelines.
- Conduct market scanning exercises to keep informed of developments in energy studies.
- Develop post-study publications and insight papers to support key participants in energy markets.
