Technical Writer

Welcome to Symbio, a MICHELIN/FAURECIA/STELLANTIS joint venture working for cleaner mobility. Our company creates hydrogen systems integrated into different types of vehicles. Since the joint venture in 2019, we have grown from 40 to 800 employees in France, and we are now expanding our US team. In 2021, Symbio entered the US Market to develop its manufacturing footprint and meet the growing interest and demands for clean mobility technology.

Job Description

  • Develop technical documentation, including user manuals, product guides, system manuals, and procedural documents.
  • Transform complex technical information into clear, understandable, and user-friendly content.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs), engineers, and team members to gather information and ensure accuracy in documentation.
  • Attend meetings and interviews to understand technical concepts and processes.
  • Plan and organize the structure and format of technical documents based on the target audience and purpose.
  • Create outlines and drafts to guide the writing process.
  • Conduct thorough research to gather technical information from various sources.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
  • Edit and proofread documentation for clarity, consistency, and adherence to style guidelines.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders for document reviews and feedback incorporation.
  • Work with graphic designers and illustrators to incorporate visual elements to enhance document comprehension.
  • Maintain version control of documents and manage documentation repositories.
  • Update documentation to reflect changes in products, processes, or technologies.
  • Ensure adherence to style guides, standards, and templates for consistent documentation.
  • Develop and update style guides as needed.

Skills & Qualifications

  • **Experience:** 3 years as a Technical Writer or in a similar role, ideally in a car manufacturer or tier 1 supplier.
  • **Skills:** Excellent writing and editing skills, ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, proficient in documentation tools like Microsoft Word, Adobe FrameMaker, or relevant software, strong research and organizational skills.
  • **Education:** Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, English, Communication, or related field.

The salary range for this position is $90,000 to $115,000 USD. Base pay offered may vary based on factors such as scope, responsibilities, experience, education, skills, and market considerations.
