Job Description

About Great Wrap

Have you ever been reading all of the negative publicity on the state of our planet and thought, ‘that’s enough!’ In 2019, we had that feeling and decided to take action. We started Great Wrap. We knew there were billions of other people like us and that companies were making strong commitments to get rid of plastic, but it didn’t feel like there was any meaningful innovation happening to support this transition.

We wanted to build a company that truly moved the needle on eradicating plastic by empowering people and businesses to make the shift to something great. Our purpose and our reason for being at Great Wrap is to end the existence of traditional stretch wrap within 10 years. We’re talking about millions of tons that are used just once each year and then sit in a landfill or our oceans for a few thousand years.

To hit this big goal of ours we rapidly innovate and work on game-changing technology every day. We do things like manufacture compostable stretch wrap and work on our future technology which transforms CO2 emissions into marine degradable flexible films. Yes, we plan on literally sucking CO2 emissions out of the sky and converting them into stretch wrap that can be composted back into your garden to combat climate change!

In this role, you’ll be responsible for

  • Act as the first point of contact for customer inquiries, providing friendly and efficient service that reflects our brand's commitment to sustainability and innovation. Qualify these leads and convert them into happy Great Wrap customers
  • Assist with preparing and following up sales presentations, proposals, and meetings, ensuring all materials showcase our design-driven approach and commitment to the environment.
  • Manage customer databases, ensuring accurate and up-to-date reporting that helps us stay connected to our community.
  • Support the sales team in scheduling appointments, organising samples, and any other administrative tasks to enhance our sales efforts.
  • Contribute ideas for improving our sales processes and customer engagement strategies, keeping sustainability at the forefront.
  • Effectively manage and nurture client relationships, acting as the primary point of contact for account inquiries, feedback, and ongoing support. Ensure timely and successful delivery of our solutions according to customer needs and objectives. Proactively assess, clarify, and validate client needs on an ongoing basis, fostering a partnership-based approach to drive continuous value and satisfaction.

A day in the life

As a Sales Account Manager, your primary responsibility is to manage the customer pipeline effectively. This involves staying on top of customer interactions, ensuring timely follow-ups, and submitting proposals promptly. Your role also entails maintaining detailed records of these interactions and reporting on progress.

At Great Wrap, we are privileged to work with customers who want to drive real change within their organisation. Whether it’s Chief Sustainability Officers or Heads of Procurement, these are people who are willing to go to extraordinary lengths to implement change that has a positive environmental outcome, making the daily tasks meaningful and downright enjoyable!

  • In the morning, you’ll come into the factory and start your day by working on the latest sales opportunities and converting customers currently reliant on plastic to sustainable alternatives that don't harm the environment.
  • After lunch, you might have a quick sync-up with your manager or the broader team to discuss the nuances of a customer's requirements. Whether it’s working out a roll-out plan or working with the manufacturing team to provide recommendations, no two days are the same.
  • The beauty of sales is that it’s flexible! You will own your schedule and best determine the priorities for your day, week, and year - giving you a great level of autonomy.

About you

  • A recent graduate or in the early stages of your career, with a keen interest in sustainability, technology, or material science. A background in account management and use of CRM software is beneficial.
  • Highly organised, with a sharp eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • A people person, comfortable conversing with a diverse range of customers and team members.
  • Eager to learn and grow, bringing fresh ideas and a positive attitude to every challenge.
  • Passionate about innovation and design, with a desire to contribute to a brand that makes a real difference in the world.

Why Great Wrap

The fact that you're reading this means that you probably care about the environment as much as we do. You also probably never saw yourself working at a cling wrap company, and neither did we! But don’t worry — although cling wrap is a big problem, it is just the beginning of a much larger vision, and we want you to come on board and help make our vision a reality.

As a certified B Corp™, we work to make a difference every day while maintaining the highest standards for our workers, communities, customers, and environment. At Great Wrap, we value our team and take pride in our culture. We want the entire team to feel a deep sense of purpose in their roles as we do something that truly makes the planet a better place. It is important to make people feel happy, motivated and challenged.

What we offer

  • A flexible and remote-friendly work environment where you can enjoy a mix of remote and in-office collaboration.
  • Recognition programs, paid volunteer days, flash mentoring and access to a training budget for self-directed learning and upskilling.
  • Flexible leave options, including happy days, parental and miscarriage leave and family-friendly considerations.
  • Access to our Employee Assistance Program, which includes online mental health and wellbeing resources, and the ability to connect with local therapists at The Mind Room.
  • The chance to be proud of your impact on the world every day!

To apply

Please apply via the link above with a cover letter, an up-to-date CV.

In your cover letter, in 200 words or less, please reference the Key Criteria above and why you are a great fit for the role. Don’t be afraid to let your personality shine through.

Great Wrap is committed to growing and empowering an inclusive community. That's why we actively encourage applications from candidates from all backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. If you require accessibility assistance at any stage of the process, please let us know.

Please note applications will close on the 17th May 2024.
