Job Title: Intern, Quality

Position Type: Part-Time, Variable

Duration: 3 months

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Reports to: Quality Engineering Supervisor

Pay Range: $22-24.00/hour

Location: 75%Onsite, 25% Remote

Position Overview:

With direct or close supervision, as a QA Intern, you will learn how QA manages and provides functional support to a company’s Quality Management System. You will also work hands on with the implementation and maintenance of ISO9001 and AS9100 at our new Webster, TX facility.

Functions:

  • Assist with the implementation of ISO9001 and AS9100 quality management systems.
  • Assist cross functional departments in the drafting, planning, and implementation of quality programs, projects, processes and/or activities to ensure products/service are compliant to ISO 9001 & AS9100.
  • Assist with the monitoring of Sales, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Production processes to identify and address potential quality issues.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to implement process improvements.
  • Assist with incoming inspections activities and maintains accurate and detailed records of quality inspections and tests.
  • Manage or assist with the management of equipment qualifications, calibrations, and maintenance programs.
  • Assist in collecting information to generate and report KPI’s.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

Education & Experience:

  • Students currently enrolled in at least twelve (12) units at an accredited college may qualify.
  • Students in their final semester or quarter, working towards an undergraduate degree at either a 2- or 4-year college or university who need less than full- time enrollment to graduate, need only be enrolled part-time in courses required for degree completion.
  • Educational major must be related to area of interest.
  • Preferred: Previous quality assurance activities. Lean Six Sigma training (White, Yellow, or Green Belt)

Office Work Environment

Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures and viewing a computer terminal. The work is performed in an office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities, which permits the employee to communicate effectively on the telephone and in person. Sufficient manual dexterity with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits the employee to frequently operate a personal computer (estimated 80%-100% of the typical workday) and other office equipment. Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits the employee to work in an office setting and at a computer workstation for an extended period, with the ability to move around the office considered to be approximately 100% of the workday.
