About the Job

Reporting to the Solarpack Development, Inc. (“SPK”) Associate Director of Project Development, the Manager of Project Development will manage development for specific projects (3-5 at a time) in the SPK development portfolio. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the development of utility-scale renewable energy (solar, wind) and energy storage projects in the US. The development manager will be responsible for planning, budgeting, and executing development activities, with the assistance of subject matter experts. Primarily, the development manager will be required to manage the following activities: project siting and land acquisition, securing interconnection agreements, permitting process, engineering and design of projects, local and state governmental outreach, project financial evaluation, project marketing, and preparation for construction. Candidates will have a strong market expertise, solid due diligence and communications skills, and proven experience in renewable energy project development. This position requires close collaboration with subject matter experts and due diligence teams across all aspects of renewable energy project development.

Your Role

  • Manage renewable energy project development activities from project sitting through to late stage development.

  • Develop and own project development budgets, schedules, and economic inputs for financial modeling.

  • Manage internal and external resources throughout the negotiation of Real Estate deals, Interconnection and Transmission agreements, Power Marketing deals, EPC contracting, and Finance agreements.

  • Coordinate with the Project Finance team to ensure that the deal structure, economic, and tax assumptions are properly analyzed. Ensure that all commercial conditions are in place to meet underwriting assumptions and support the Project Finance team to secure financing of the project.

  • Maintain a strong knowledge of the US market inputs and act on potential impacts to projects under development and advise on impacts to business development strategies.

  • Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, including landowners, local community members, and federal, state, and local officials.

    Your Profile

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Legal, Science or related field.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in renewable energy project development (real estate, permitting, interconnection, power marketing, EPC) with demonstrable and successful track record bringing utility-scale solar or wind energy projects to NTP preferred.

  • Strong communication, organization, and relationship management skills.

  • Financial modeling experience.

  • Team player who can excel in a dynamic and multi-disciplinary project team environment with the ability to adapt to change.

  • Willingness and ability to travel if required by projects.
