Mechanical Designer - Västerås

If you are a quality-conscious and ambitious mechanical designer looking to work in a technology-intensive environment with diverse future opportunities, this position is perfect for you. Westinghouse is currently seeking a Designer for the Mechanical Design unit.

About the Job

As a designer within the Mechanical Design unit, you will be part of a team working on various technical specialties. Your main tasks will include mechanical design regarding fuel assemblies and their components in development projects as well as order-based design. This involves creating manufacturing documents such as models, drawings, specifications, and more. You will also work on licensing projects where calculations and investigations are documented in technical reports. The work is independent or in a group, with responsibility for part or all of a project. You will have frequent contact with other units within Westinghouse, as well as customers and subcontractors. The placement is in Västerås with the possibility of working from home a few days per week.

We are looking for someone who values quality, enjoys collaborating with others on varied and highly technical design projects, and possesses qualities such as curiosity, precision, responsibility, and structure.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
  • Proficient in computer-aided design (CAD) – we use CREO
  • Knowledge of blueprint reading and tolerance specification
  • Fluent in spoken and written Swedish and English

We welcome applications from recent graduates and those with previous experience in the role of Designer. Experience in the nuclear industry is a plus.
