About the Role

Aepnus Technology is looking for an intrinsically motivated entry-level Lab Technician to provide support executing bench-top experiments and lab operations. These experiments will guide the ongoing development of Aepnus electrochemical technologies for the production of commercial chemicals.

**Primary Responsibilities:**

  • Prepare reagents and handle chemical products
  • Assemble, test, and run diagnostics of bench-scale electrochemical systems
  • Perform lab experiments, including periodic sampling and basic chemical analysis such as titrations and preparing solutions
  • Log experimental observations in a primary lab notebook for learnings and future analysis
  • Work with machine shop tools such as drilling machine, lathe, laser cutter, and mill to manufacture electrochemical cells, gaskets, flow frames, etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

**Required Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:**

  • 1 year of wet lab experience
  • Understanding of basic chemistry concepts such as molarity, molality, weight percentages, and Faraday's law
  • Understanding of general safety in a chemical lab environment
  • Proven experience with pilot or small-scale fluid systems
  • Handy with tools commonly used in the machine shop, able to lift 35 pounds comfortably, and working knowledge of hardware, electrical, piping, etc.
  • Experience with electrochemical technologies including batteries, fuel cells, electrolysis, water treatment, etc., or completion of a basic electrochemistry course is a plus
  • Ability to work independently under dynamic environments and be a self-starter
