Head of Grid and Transmission

OW is a 50/50 joint venture of EDP Renewables and ENGIE and a global leader in fixed-bottom and floating offshore wind. Both companies share the vision in which renewables, particularly offshore wind, play a key role in the global energy transition. We are currently looking for a Head of Grid and Transmission with the following:

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

• Significant experience in transmission policy and electricity market operation is required, including interconnection process in ISO-NE, NYISO, PJM and/or CAISO.
• Excellent understanding of all phases of an interconnection process for ISOs/RTOs/TOs is required.
• Required experience from transmission development and policy around this across US.
• Ability to assess project needs and grid connection requirements/conditions to negotiate the technical and commercial aspects of the interconnection agreement with the ISO/RTO.
• Experience of engaging with regulatory bodies and industry trade bodies through participation in working groups (or similar) is desirable.

KNOWLEDGE

• Knowledge of electrical system design/study/analysis processes and techniques is essential.
• Specific knowledge of the standards associated with electrical system design and grid connection of renewable energy generators in the US is required.
• Knowledge of the standards and regulations related to any tests of renewable energy generators to connect to the grid.
