ROLE OVERVIEW

Join GRIDSERVE as the the Head of Business Systems, this position is the product owner of the GRIDSERVE’s line of business systems which includes the full ERP suite delivered on Dynamics 365 ERP (D365) and other SaaS solutions. In consultation with the IT leadership, the role will execute the strategy for ERP solutions, manage the Business Systems Team overseeing the support, management, and optimisation of D365, interfacing between business owners, partners, and internal technical teams, this role is responsible for ensuring that Dynamics and other critical back office solutions meet GRIDSERVE’s requirements in line with Budgets, Strategy, and Objectives.

We are seeking a talented and experienced Business Systems Lead to oversee our Business Systems technology and operations teams and drive the strategic direction, roadmap, implementation, and optimisation of our business systems, with a primary focus on Dynamics 365. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of skilled professionals, driving system improvements, and ensuring alignment between technology solutions and business objectives.The role will be a peer of other skilled professionals heading up IT Shared Services, Data, Digital, PMO and our Innovation, Research and Development tribes, closely aligning with them on our overall technology delivery.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ownership of GRIDSERVE’s D365 applications, D365 lifecycle management, and the roadmap for D365 enhancements.
  • Liaising closely with business owners to understand business processes and requirements.
  • Line management of an internal team.
  • Leading the team to ensure best practice development and deployment methodologies are followed.
  • Partner and Contract Management ensuring adherence to or exceeding of SLAs and KPIs.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes including anti-bribery policy and Environmental and Quality Management System (compliant with ISO 9001 and 14001).

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Required skills and experience

ERP Systems Expertise:

In-depth knowledge and understanding of Dynamics 365 architecture, modules, functionalities, and capabilities.

Experience in implementing, configuring, and customising Dynamics 365 solutions to meet business requirements.

Project Management:

Strong project management skills with the ability to plan, execute, and oversee ERP implementation projects.

Proficiency in project planning, resource allocation, risk management, and budgeting.

Leadership and Team Management:

Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to lead, motivate, and mentor a team of business systems analysts, functional consultants, developers, and administrators.

Experience in hiring, training, and developing team members to achieve their full potential.

Business Process Analysis:

Ability to analyse and understand complex business processes and translate them into ERP system requirements.

Experience in conducting business process re-engineering and optimization initiatives using Dynamics 365.

Communication and Stakeholder Management:

Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Experience in stakeholder engagement, expectation management, and building strong relationships with business users, executives, and external partners.

Problem-Solving and Decision-Making:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues, assess alternatives, and implement effective solutions.

Ability to make sound decisions under pressure and in fast-paced environments.

Change Management:

Experience in change management methodologies and practices to facilitate smooth ERP system implementations and transitions.

Ability to manage resistance to change, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and drive adoption of new processes and technologies.

Vendor Management:

Experience in managing relationships with ERP vendors, consultants, and service providers.

Ability to negotiate contracts, service level agreements, and licensing agreements to ensure optimal value for the organisation.

Desirable Technical Skills:

A ability to clearly explain the benefits of Microsoft technologies including SQL Server, Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate), Azure services, and Office 365 integration.

Understanding of data migration, integration, and reporting processes within Dynamics 365.

Continuous Learning and Development:

Commitment to staying updated with the latest trends, developments, and best practices in ERP systems and related technologies.

Willingness to pursue relevant certifications and training programs to enhance skills and knowledge.

Regulatory Compliance and Security:

Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards relevant to the organisation's industry, ensuring ERP system configurations adhere to these standards.

Understanding of data security best practices and measures to safeguard sensitive information within Dynamics 365.

Quality Assurance:

Experience in establishing and enforcing governance policies, standards, and best practices for ERP system usage and administration.

Ability to monitor system performance, usage metrics, and user feedback to identify areas for improvement and ensure quality deliverables.

Required qualifications and certifications

Microsoft Dynamics Certifications or other relevant ERP platforms

AgilePM, Managing Successful Programmes or PRINCE2 certifications
