**Position Specific Description** This position is in the Environmental Permitting Section of the Corporate Environmental Services Department supporting new development opportunities for NextEra Energy Resources and other NextEra Energy affiliates. The selected candidate will help lead and manage permitting efforts for projects in the western US (CO, UT, ID, WY, MT, NM, NV, AZ, CA, OR, WA) with a focus on major federal permitting actions. This position requires working from a home office located within the western US or at one NextEra's western offices (San Francisco, San Diego, Denver). The applicant must have relevant Project Management experience with the ability to lead corporate development opportunities and acquisitions in power generation, storage, and transmission projects, including renewable energy facilities, transmission lines, and battery storage.

**Responsibilities Include**

  • Obtaining all required federal, state, and local environmental licenses, permits, and approvals for development projects in the region
  • Providing project support such as siting and community outreach, agency coordination, risk evaluation, scheduling, and consultant oversight
  • Licensing and permitting new solar, wind energy storage, and transmission facilities on federally managed land

**Qualifications**

  • Solid track record for implementing the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA)
  • Understanding of associated environmental regulations such as the Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, and National Historic Preservation Act
  • Ability to support multiple projects with multi-faceted environmental and regulatory issues
  • Willingness to travel multiple times per month when needed

**Preferred Qualifications**

  • Advanced knowledge of environmental regulations with an emphasis on NEPA and associated regulations
  • Advanced ability with analysis, problem-solving, and professional skills

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

**Qualifications**

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience: 6 years
