What are we looking for?

We are looking for an Energy Market Analyst. Support the Commercial Managers in the design and execution of the commercial strategy to implement Atlas’ business plan in Mexico. Promote and implement strong analytical metrics to allow Atlas long-term success with a differentiated business plan in alignment with Atlas’ values to achieve the highest returns for Atlas and its stakeholders.

What challenges will you face?

• Undersatand the fundamentals, regulation, and evolution of the power markets and anticipate trends, emerging opportunities and risks.
• the Commercial Manager in assessing the market potential and the segments of most interest, and project its evolution considering economic, technological, regulatory and environmental drivers.
• market intel to the Commercial Manager to support the engagement with promising clients and drive PPA negotiations.
• regulatory activity, anticipating opportunities & risks and defending Atlas’ interests.
• the market attractiveness of development and M&A project opportunities.
• the market tools to provide the guidelines to build a competitive project development strategy.
• Work together with Commercial Manager to build market forecasts (spot price, capacity price, curtailment, etc.)

What specific knowledge do you need?

• least 2 years in a similar area or department or at least developing similar tasks in utilities, IPPs, traders or other types of generation or energy commercialization companies.
• understanding of Mexico’s market and regulation fundamentals.
• in market products analysis (energy, congestion, capacity, etc.).
• Strong understanding or technologies production costs and profiles
• Studies: StudiesBusiness/engineering degree from top tier university.
• Advanced working English and Spanish
• Risk/stochastic analysis knowledge, prowess in power flow modelling tools and knowledge of python or other programming languages are an upside.
