Electrical Engineer

We have a unique opportunity for a Electrical Engineer to join our team which will be focused on the Energy Infrastructure and Utility Services market, this role will be responsible for managing the engineering and engineering delivery requirements to support precontracts and project delivery.

This role is to provide high levels of technical and project solutions support and may require client engagement to develop and deliver fit for purpose, well scoped and economic project solutions. The role ensures that adequate and appropriate transfer of knowledge and information is provided to enhance the precontracts sales effort whilst also providing direction to the delivery teams to meet and exceed the company’s overall performance targets, customer satisfaction and safety objectives.

Accountabilities

• Proactively work with the precontracts and clients to assess requirements and develop fit for purpose, fully scoped and costed solution options as part of the sales process.
• Provide a customer focused delivery approach.
• Lead the projects technical design and estimating effort to ensure that solutions delivered are fit-for-purpose, acceptable to the key stakeholders and also aligned with current market expectations.
• The leadership is to cover all the multi-disciplinary aspects of electrical infrastructure delivery capability.
• Provides a professional and supportive transfer of information, knowledge and project deliverables as outputs the Project Delivery team, including the smooth transition to delivery so that customer expectations are met and that projects are monitored and assisted to deal with on-going delivery and design issues.
• Keeps abreast of evolving and proven technologies and solutions and provides intelligence and recommendations on new technologies and systems associated with new, and the maintenance of existing, products and services as part of the market offering.
• Demonstrate a personal commitment to health, safety and environment and support a diverse and inclusive workplace.
• Compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, procedures and practices.

Skills and Knowledge

• Demonstrated expert knowledge of the Energy Infrastructure and Utility Services market, how it is evolving and have established key knowledge areas and knowledge partners to allow the business to adapt quickly and adequately in providing new solutions to the market.
• Very strong understanding and experience in the design, construction, constructability, optioning and delivered costs associated with multi-disciplinary HV infrastructure projects including a demonstrated knowledge of, and commitment to workplace health and safety, and environmental practices.
• Direct experience in designing, constructing and commissioning of HV electrical infrastructure projects, with experience to include the civil, mechanical, control, protection, telecommunications, HV cable systems and OHL systems components.
• Broad technical and engineering understanding of HV connection solutions, Power Systems and electrical networks knowledge, inclusive of optioning and the development of concurrent solutions in complex decision environments.
• Strong cost and estimating knowledge in integrated HV solutions to develop and implement cost effective fit-for-purpose solutions.
• Proven skill in developing and maintaining viable customer relationships and understanding, supplying and delivering product solutions according to customer needs including entrepreneurial insight in the implementation of customer-focussed projects.
• Strong overall commercial acumen and proven ability to design and deliver projects and products to time, cost and quality objectives that address risks and reputational interests in a commercial context.
• Demonstrated success as an agent of change within a company undergoing significant transformation towards improving its commercial and competitive standing.
• Demonstrated ability to be a leader in a small multi-disciplinary team environment that places a high value on collaboration.
• High level of written and oral communication ability, along with well-developed inter-personal and negotiating skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering acceptable for membership of Institution of Engineers Australia in the Professional Engineering category
• Registration as Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ) is required for appointment into this position.
• The successful candidate will need to attain registration as a Professional Engineer in Queensland (RPEQ) or hold a CP Eng and be eligible to obtain RPEQ Status.
