Deputy Chief of Party

Position Summary:

The Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP) will support the Chief of Party (COP) in all aspects of the implementation of Coalisi n para la Resiliencia Econ mica y Ambiental (CREA) in Honduras. The DCOP will work with the private sector, governments, local producers, and organizations in rambutan and cocoa value chains, and other diversification crops on the north coast of Honduras. Responsibilities include providing technical tools, building relationships with local markets and the private sector, leading training and support for local staff and partners, and strengthening business capacities of MSMEs in selected value chains. Additionally, the DCOP will support the COP in providing technical leadership, operational oversight, and maintaining effective partnerships with key stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct periodic planning workshops and sessions
  • Supervise reporting and technical alignment
  • Ensure delivery of initiative impacts
  • Collaborate with key leads and partners
  • Foster compliance with policies and procedures
  • Identify and handle risks, raising issues as needed
  • Oversee activity effectiveness and implementation
  • Ensure compliance with USAID regulations
  • Participate in meetings and technical progress reviews
  • Support subgrantee monitoring and capacity development
  • Prepare technical reports and ensure compliance with templates
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • 8+ years of international development experience
  • 5+ years of management experience
  • Experience with agricultural projects and USAID grants
  • Knowledge of relevant value chains and analysis methodologies
  • Strong communication skills in English and Spanish
  • Ability to travel nationally and internationally

Salary:

Commensurate with experience **Job Level:** 3
