Job Application for Democracy Campaigner at Greenpeace USA

Position Summary

The Democracy Campaigner 8 Month Contract role at Greenpeace USA is crucial for the campaign strategy focused on the lawsuit against Greenpeace offices related to the protests at Standing Rock. This role involves planning joint strategies with volunteers, supporters, coalition partners, and allies to protect the right to protest and combat state-level anti-protest bills. The Democracy Campaigner will coordinate, train, and build capacity of volunteers and allies, develop campaign materials, issue updates, action alerts, and media materials.

Responsibilities

  • **Strategy**: Implementing advocacy grassroots digital and communication strategies for voting rights and protest rights
  • **Collaboration and Communication**: Working with coalition partners, Greenpeace teams, and engaging supporters and activists
  • **Outreach and Engagement**: Creatively communicating campaign issues, opportunities, and interventions through various platforms
  • **Other Duties**: Additional responsibilities as organizational priorities arise

Requirements

  • **Education and Experience**: BA/BS degree preferred with a minimum of 3 years of campaign development experience
  • **Skills and Abilities**: Understanding of social media, organizational skills, project management tools proficiency, strong presentation skills, commitment to nonviolence, and ability to inspire action online and offline
  • **Desired Knowledge**: Familiarity with democracy-related topics like campaign finance, voting rights, indigenous sovereignty, and environmental justice
