About SkySpecs

SkySpecs is simplifying renewable energy asset management by offering purpose-built technologies and services that help our customers deliver industry-leading productivity, efficiency, and returns. Every day we help our customers unlock the power of their data so they can make confident, informed decisions. Our team brings deep industry experience and a willingness to get our hands dirty to first understand and then solve customer problems on the ground. In 2022, SkySpecs launched an AI-powered condition monitoring software platform for early detection of wind turbine mechanical failures. The platform uses live sensor data streams from vibration sensor systems and SCADA systems. The CMS business line has since seen tremendous growth, and now the ongoing ML/AI effort will need additional muscle.

What will I be getting myself into?

You will get the opportunity to build something new that bridges cutting-edge technology with industrial challenges that matter to society and the planet. We built the next-generation machine intelligence platform for wind turbine monitoring, and we are now looking for a talented data scientist to join our data science team.

As a Data Scientist, you will:

  • Develop and implement highly performant machine learning algorithms for wind turbine fault detection.
  • Have full ownership of your projects and collaborate closely with other team members to integrate the developed algorithms with our back-end and front-end services.
  • Work on all aspects of a data science project, including scoping, research, modeling, testing and validation, implementation, and documentation.
  • Get the chance to work with cutting-edge machine learning and AI algorithms, including deep learning.

Requirements of the Job

To qualify for an initial interview, we expect you to fulfill several of the below qualifications:

  • MSc or PhD within mathematics, physics, computer science, electrical engineering, or another related engineering discipline.
  • Experienced Python user.
  • Strong mathematical and statistical skills.
  • Ability to analyze huge amounts of data, have an eye for patterns, and love detecting them.
  • Proficient in data transformation for preprocessing data.
  • Experience working in a team of developers and deploying machine learning algorithms to production.
  • Familiar with code versioning tools like GIT and branching workflows.
  • Motivated to learn and master new technologies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communicator.
  • Comfortable speaking to stakeholders.
  • Live near Vejle and prefer coming into the office daily.

Bonus Points for:

  • Wind industry experience.
  • SCADA data experience.
  • Familiarity with other object-oriented languages.
  • Experience with digital signal processing.
  • Full-time business experience as a data scientist/ML engineer.

Perks of the Job

  • 20 weeks paid parental leave for mothers and 16 weeks for fathers.
  • 8% employer-paid pension with health insurance benefits.
  • 6 weeks annual holiday.
  • Catered lunch program at the office.
  • Flexible work-from-home policy.
  • Talented and fun colleagues.
