**Job Description:**

Northvolt has an exciting job offer for a **Chemical Compliance Coordinator** to join our bold Chemical Compliance team in Västerås. In joining us, you will play an important part in the journey of building one of the first large scale European battery companies. You will have the opportunity to be part of building a competent and dependable Chemical Compliance team capable of scaling Northvolt's operations in Sweden and beyond.

The **Chemical Compliance team** is part of the Central Quality organization. The main focus of the job scope is to be the global central point of contact for a data system for chemical inventory and storage of Safety Data Sheets (SDS), as well as to implement chemical compliance guidelines and improve the organization's knowledge on related topics. Together with the Chemical Compliance team, you will support the various Northvolt teams, currently mostly located in Sweden. The team today consists of 4 professionals supporting the entire Northvolt organization with expertise and practical interpretation of legislation related to chemicals and materials, defining internal ways of working, providing tools for the organization, but also performing REACH registrations, authoring SDS, and reporting to authorities.

Due to the nature of the fast-growing start-up company, the work of the team is varying and giving constantly opportunities of development and learning. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Implement Northvolt guidelines related to chemical compliance
  • Maintain a helpdesk and training support to Northvolt users of a data system used for storage of SDS
  • Improve the structure and ways of working related to the use of a data system used for storage of SDS
  • Participate in authoring SDS for Northvolt products and samples
  • Perform chemical assessments and SDS assessments, which includes contacting suppliers
  • Yearly reporting to authorities
  • Support the Northvolt organization with expertise within the area of chemicals together with the team

**Skills & Requirements:**

We believe that you have:

  • Qualified in chemistry, chemical engineering, or similar natural or environmental sciences
  • 2-3 years of experience in chemical regulatory compliance such as EU REACH CLP or related national legislation (Sweden, Germany, Poland, or Canada)
  • Experience in training others
  • Experience in assessing supplier SDS or authoring SDS is advantageous
  • Experience in project management is advantageous
  • Basic knowledge in occupational health safety issues and toxicology is advantageous

  • People skills to excellently manage the many internal and external contacts, collaborative
  • Structured way of working
  • Strong communication skills to efficiently generate compliance-related documentation and trainings
  • Excellent English both written and oral skills
  • Swedish, German, French, or Polish are advantageous
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and cross-functionally, as well as independently
  • Flexibility, friendliness, motivation to take on challenges, grit, and a sense of humor
