Our mission is to be the world's first fully clean mining and metals production company, producing the resources needed for the next generation of our economy.

If you are someone who shares our relentless pursuit of a better future, passion for innovation, and are excited about working with some of the top innovators in the world, then this is the place for you.
Our Values: ● You are only crazy if you are wrong, it’s ok to be wrong ● Lead with Compassion ● Be Resourceful ● Listen ● Hustle
Who we are looking for:
We are looking for a rockstar co-op with a hands-on attitude to join our team. In this position, you’ll be working cross-functionally with the entire engineering team that’s composed of material, metal, chemical, and R&D engineers, and scientists. You will be involved in several different projects that span across the entirety of Phoenix’s technology stack. The position requires an ‘action orientation,’ with high energy and enthusiasm, and initiative to constantly improve operational processes, including replacing them altogether with the latest available innovation and technology through collaboration and research. ### Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the engineering team to support ongoing projects related to mechanical systems and components.
- Use computer-aided design (CAD) software to create and modify mechanical drawings, models, and prototypes.
- Use rapid prototyping tools to quickly iterate on designs and develop fixtures and toolings to support manufacturing efforts
- Participate in testing and analysis activities, including data collection, instrumentation setup, and performance evaluations.
- Maintain accurate records of project work, including design changes, test results, and project progress.
- Collaborate with other team members, including engineers, researchers, and technicians, to complete project tasks and achieve project goals.
- Contribute to troubleshooting and problem-solving efforts as they arise in the course of projects.
- Adhere to safety protocols and best practices while working on various engineering tasks and projects.
- Prepare and deliver project updates or findings to supervisors and team members as required.
Qualifications:
- Enrollment as a student pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Basic understanding of mechanical engineering principles and concepts.
- Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Willingness to learn, adapt, and take on new challenges.
- Relevant coursework or prior engineering-related experience.
- Familiarity with relevant engineering software tools or programming languages.
- Hands-on experience with mechanical systems or prototypes.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and laboratory procedures. At Phoenix Tailings, we have an open culture that values learning, and we are looking to grow the team with enthusiastic individuals who share our vision of sustainable mining. Phoenix Tailings, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer, and we value diversity at all levels. All qualified candidates will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex (including gender identity, sexual orientation, and pregnancy), national origin, age, disability or genetic information, or any other applicable protected characteristics, and these characteristics will not be a factor for consideration of any work-related decisions (including but not limited to hiring, firing, compensation, and discipline).
