Who we are looking for:
We are looking for a highly motivated and results-oriented Senior Refining Technician to join our dynamic team dedicated to recovering rare earth elements in a rare earth metal refinery. You will leverage your extensive experience and contribute significantly to this cutting-edge process, ensuring efficient and responsible extraction of these critical resources for clean energy technologies, electric vehicles, and advanced electronics. ### Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and operate rare earth metal production equipment within the refinery, ensuring smooth operation and optimal performance.
  • Monitor process parameters, analyze data, and make adjustments tooptimize performance, yield, and product quality.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting ofequipment, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and environmental regulations.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of process improvements for the refining equipment, collaborating with engineers and chemists.
  • Assist with pilot-scale testing and data collection for process optimization initiatives, contributing valuable insights to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Train and mentor junior technicians on the safe and efficient operation of the solvent extraction system, sharing knowledge and best practices to ensure a skilled workforce.
  • Adhere to strict safety protocols and environmental regulations within the refinery and solvent extraction operation, promoting a culture of safety and environmental stewardship.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of operational data, maintenance activities, and process adjustments, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the refinery, actively seeking opportunities to enhance efficiency, quality, and sustainability.
  • Contribute to a culture of safety with continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety practices, risk mitigation strategies, and overall safety culture.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Technical or vocational training in metallurgical equipment maintenance or related fields is a plus.
  • 7+ years of experience in refinery operations, with a strong understanding separation processes.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and components, up to 50 lbs, for extended periods of time.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures in an industrial setting, including experience with hot work, forklift operation, respiratory protection, and hazard communications.
  • Proven ability to operate and maintain chemical processing equipment
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting process flow diagrams and technical manuals
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to safety and quality standards
  • Passion for clean energy and sustainable resource extraction
