Job Description

System Planner with a focus on RfG Connections

E.ON is the energy company that drives the transition to renewable energy and an electrified society. We don't just talk about visions for the future, but take responsibility by acting here and now. For people and for the climate.

About the Role and Team

We are strengthening our System Planning team, currently consisting of 6 dedicated employees based in Malmö. Together, we are responsible for the stability of the power system and its planning for high operational safety. We plan for a stable grid and have a reliable capacity to handle events that occur during changes and faults. You will be involved in cross-functional work and contribute your expertise in power system planning as the closest link between plant and operation. In this role, you will be responsible for describing risk management around how system risks are built and handled. Based on capacity optimization, you will have the opportunity to work on predicting trends and conducting analyses based on a large number of parameters to optimize the use of the electricity grid. You will also have the opportunity to lead the development of policies and guidelines for voltage regulation, outage management, subscriptions, intermittent production, reactive power control, etc., in an increasingly complex grid.

The team faces major and interesting challenges in the coming years. We are strengthening our ability to develop various capacity-enhancing solutions, guidelines for plant design, and ensure that the right level of operational safety is created in our facilities. The number of investment projects to increase capacity in the grid is increasing, and with this, the complexity of our daily work. This new role is a step we take to address these challenges. As a key person in the team, you will be responsible for both capacity optimization and developing and improving processes for connecting electrical generators and renewable energy facilities according to the requirements set out in the RfG guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for reviewing project-specific requirements and providing technical support and advice to both internal and external stakeholders regarding the implementation of RfG requirements.
  • Participate in the development of strategies to effectively implement RfG requirements and promote best practices for connecting electrical generators.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, external stakeholders such as customers, authorities, and industry organizations to ensure compliance with RfG requirements and promote best practices for connecting electrical generators.

Requirements

  • Technical background with a university or engineering degree.
  • Knowledge in the field of electricity and experience with power system issues.
  • Extensive experience in grid calculations and electrical power competence from an operational perspective.
  • In-depth understanding of power systems and renewable energy sources, as well as knowledge of relevant EU directives and national legislation in the field.
  • Experience in working with technical implementation and compliance with industry standards and guidelines, particularly RfG requirements or similar.
