Senior Engineer Electrical Planning and Design

National Grid is hiring a Senior Engineer for our Electrical Distribution Planning Asset Mgmt NE department in Waltham, Massachusetts. This is a hybrid role based in MA, RI, NH with approximately 1-2 days a week in the office.

Job Purpose:

• Provide allocated engineering services for the generation of new business ideas.
• Develop strategic options into fully sanctioned schemes.

Key Accountabilities:

• Assess the performance of the sub Transmission and Distribution system.
• Conduct 15-year area studies and develop long-term integrated plans.
• Develop conceptual project plans addressing identified T D system needs.
• Ensure asset data is captured correctly in appropriate asset registers.
• Analyze policies, strategies, and programs for effectiveness.
• Provide technical support for electric transmission and distribution systems.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
• EIT and Professional Engineer license desirable.
• Knowledge of distribution equipment and industry practices.
• Ability to organize and analyze large amounts of data.
• Skilled at using computer software for data mining and analysis.

Salary:

• $124,000 - $146,000
