Quality Engineer Service

Job Description

As a Quality Engineer, your goal is to lead and complete moderately complex quality engineering assignments and perform statistical analysis of data to provide information to meet quality standards in the commercial service business. You will do this by:

• Performing moderately complex quality assurance assignments and projects.
• Participating in new models development process and performing Quality Management System documentation activities.
• Coordinating moderately complex product process capability studies.
• Leading problem-solving teams, identifying root causes, implementing corrective actions, and verifying effectiveness.
• Developing product process procedures, including development of performance metrics.
• Performing statistical analysis used in problem-solving quality improvement projects and Six Sigma teams.
• Performing layouts, reading, and understanding geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Investigating customer complaints, developing corrective action plans, and verifying effectiveness.
• Leading Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) teams and the development of Control Plans.
• Serving as a liaison between supplier and Briggs Stratton in quality activities.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Quality Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of three years of related experience in engineering, purchasing, or quality field.
• Fundamental quality experience in machining or assembly type operations.
• Fluent in English and primary language used in the area of responsibility.

Preferred Qualifications

• ASQ Quality Engineer, ASQ Quality Auditor, or Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
• Experience with enterprise-wide reporting systems such as SAP and/or Teamcenter.

Additional Knowledge/Skills

• Well-developed communication skills, both verbal and written, for interacting with diverse groups of internal and external customers.
• Ability to prepare and present technical information.
• Thorough technical knowledge and background of quality and manufacturing processes, including GD&T, layout and gaging, machining methods, and assembly processes.
• Thorough knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and statistical techniques.
• Thorough knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) tools, including control plans and FMEA.
• Well-developed analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Well-developed time management, prioritization, organizational, and planning skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work individually or in a team environment, with the flexibility to ensure team coverage of all quality-related activities.

Travel

• Required travel of up to 10%, as needed domestically.

• Menomonee Falls, WI (hybrid eligible).
