Program Associate, Urban Resilience

**Location:** Mumbai, India

About Your Role:

The WRI India Ross Centre for Sustainable Cities is seeking a Program Associate to advance policy and project work focusing on effective climate adaptation and resilience in Mumbai, Maharashtra. The selected candidates will contribute to research coordination, capacity building, communications, and outreach related to projects focusing on climate resilience. This position offers an opportunity to work on impactful on-ground projects with government bodies to integrate climate concerns into policies and programs. The selected candidates will work with the Urban Development team under the Sustainable Cities and Transport Program in undertaking desk and field research and engaging with key departments to understand climate adaptation strategies.

How Your Day Will Unfold:

  • Carry out on-ground and desk research to inform projects and policy interventions.
  • Contribute to thematic studies, roadmaps, policy briefs, and blogs on topics related to climate resilience.
  • Assist in coordinating events for engagement with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Participate in relevant meetings and stakeholders consultations.
  • Assist in visual communication work and compilation of communication materials.
  • Coordinate with relevant organizations to obtain data and content.
  • Contribute to developing presentations for stakeholder meetings.
  • Design innovative problem-solving approaches to address research goals and program objectives effectively.

Qualifications and Requirements We Seek:

  • Post-graduate degree in environmental studies, urban resilience, ecology, biodiversity planning, urban design, or sustainable development.
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in urban development.
  • Proficiency in visual communication and computer software.
  • Knowledge of ecological adaptation or a keen interest in developing the same.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to liaise with government and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in data collection and analysis.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Salary and Benefits:

  • INR 8,00,000 to INR 9,00,000 CTC.
  • Comprehensive benefits package.
  • Duration: 1 year, extendable based on performance.
  • Start Date: At the earliest.
