Power Settlements Senior Advisor
What You Can Expect
As a Power Settlements Senior Advisor within Commercial Operations of ENGIE Energy Marketing North America EEMNA in Houston, you will be responsible for:
- Ensuring proper settlements with Independent System Operators (ISOs) and/or complex structured agreements with bilateral counterparties
- Reconciling variances between projected and actual settlement values
- Conducting thorough analysis of settlement data and providing constructive feedback to Asset Managers
- Validating power generation and transaction data using both internal and external sources
- Creating customized reports to align with counterparty specifications and overseeing their timely dissemination and updates
- Managing calculation templates for Power Purchase Agreements for energy customers
- Ensuring invoices are validated and internally distributed in time to meet deadlines
- Navigating ISO websites to retrieve settlement files and pricing data facilitating invoice reconciliation
- Performing analytical research to determine root cause of settlement discrepancies
- Ensuring ISO counterparty settlements are captured in the transaction management system correctly
- Assisting other departments with financial and market analysis for various projects as requested
- Assisting with onboarding of new projects
- Identifying process improvements and automation opportunities in routine tasks
- Developing and maintaining documentation for settlements processes
- Coordinating with IT to enhance and test settlement systems and processes
- Carrying out other duties and analysis as assigned
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in an analytical field such as economics, finance, accounting, renewable energy, sustainability, or a related discipline
- Minimum of 10 years of demonstrated experience in a relevant role
- Comprehensive knowledge of energy markets and familiarity with various ISOs
- Strong quantitative analytical and problem-solving skills with good attention to detail
- Proficiency in using Aligne PowerOptix PI or similar systems
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills
- Experience in reading and interpreting Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) contracts
- Ability to work autonomously or collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong analytical thinking, professional presentation skills, and effective communication skills
- Self-driven, motivated team player with the ability to adapt quickly to new systems and manage time-sensitive deliverables
Additional Details
- Eligible for hybrid work policy
- Must work at least 5 days and 40 hours per week at ENGIE's offices in Houston
- Some level of remote work may be allowed at supervisor's discretion
- Scheduling on weekends and holidays required
- Must comply with ENGIE's COVID vaccination and testing policy
- Must comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
Compensation
- Salary Range: $112,000 - $172,500 USD annually
- Actual salary may vary based on factors like geography, experience, education, etc.
- In addition to base pay, eligible for competitive bonus incentive plan
- Benefits package includes medical, dental, vision, life insurance, paid time off, 401(k) plan, and more
