Position Summary

PV Designers play a crucial role in the solar installation process. They are responsible for creating solar designs for residential properties and generating professional documentation for various jurisdictions across the country. Effective communication with sales representatives, colleagues, and field technicians is essential to ensure accurate installation of solar projects. PV Designers must proactively identify and resolve issues with limited guidance to drive projects to successful completion.

Essential Duties

• Design solar projects using various programs and software, adhering to structural, electrical, and fire codes nationwide
• Prepare permit applications for submission to different jurisdictions
• Make strategic decisions to optimize solar potential in residential projects
• Collaborate effectively with team members in the office and in the field to ensure high-quality solar installations
• Utilize software tools such as CRM, Excel, SiteCapture, AutoCAD, and Aurora

Minimum Qualifications

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
• 1 year of experience in PV design preferred, or demonstrated interest in engineering fields
• Understanding of residential electrical systems is advantageous
• Experience with CAD software is a plus, particularly AutoCAD
• Strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking abilities

*Physical Requirements:* This position may involve regular talking or hearing, as well as sitting or standing for extended periods. Occasional lifting of office supplies up to 50 pounds may be required. Specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
