Job Description

OW a controlled 50/50 joint venture between EDP and Engie is looking for an analytical and resolutive O&M Service Contract Project Manager.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the Head of O&M Excellence and Processes the “O&M Service Contract Project Manager” will develop O&M contractual technical standards for fixed and floating wind farms. He/she will support SMAs negotiations.

The O&M Service Contract Project Manager will work closely to Procurement, Legal, Local O&M teams and the Corporate O&M/AM Team.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Develop technical standards and specifications with due quality and consistency to be used in upcoming tendering process and SMA negotiations. Detail acceptable and non-acceptable. Maintain the technical standards up to date by collecting lessons learned from the operating sites.
  • Define best mechanism to compare SMA proposals from service suppliers (in/out of scope-technical warranties-liabilities). Ensure that the required scope to maintain an offshore wind farm is captured in the contract list and suppliers’ interfaces are clearly defined.
  • Support OPEX Engineering to create new cost divers and costs assumptions to enhance Corporate OPEX tool according to market trends in O&M services contracts and O&M Models proposed by the company.
  • Ensure that OW &M strategical decisions are captured in the specifications. Evaluate scope splits according to different O&M models proposed by the company.
  • Leverage the knowledge of SMA performance on current operating projects to update and/or create new requirements. Standardize contract performance monitoring across the fleet. Understand deviations and/or contractual gaps.
  • Support Legal and Procurement during SMA negotiation as requested. Participate in negotiations meetings and track minutes on technical topics.
  • Engage and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Working with colleagues and stakeholders across the wider Ocean Winds business to define contractual requirements to complex technical and commercial matters.
  • Supporting Ocean Winds O&M and Asset Management strategies and process development programmes.
  • Support BU as needed on O&M contractual matters.

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

  • A degree in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g., Industrial Engineering, Energy Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Naval Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent) is preferred.
  • Proven experience in Technical Contracting of O&M agreements either in corporate or academical environments. Evidence of bidder´s subcontractor´s experience in works similar to those subcontracted.
  • Experience in wind or other renewable energies will be valued.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND COMPETENCIES:

Demonstrable knowledge in the following areas is required:

  • Competent in all pre contract activities including the creation of procurement strategies, contract drafting and negotiation, and contract award.
  • Commercial management experience, capable of developing and managing multiple large-scale budgets, including reforecasts and reporting.
  • Experienced in managing and administering multiple forms of contracts operating as the nominated point of contact.
  • Ability to engage and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of business.
  • Proficient with all Microsoft 365 Software Packages.
  • Excellent communication skills and creating and presenting data stories decision-making.
  • Tackle challenging project tasks demonstrating ownership and responsibility.

Knowledge in any of the following areas is a plus:

  • Renewable Energy.
  • Wind turbines.
  • Mechanical systems.
  • Fixed and floating substructures.
  • High voltage and power systems.

LANGUAGES

The company has an international team of employees, and the working language is English. Candidates must be fluent in English both spoken and written. Proficiency in other languages will be valued.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Travel to project and OEM sites may be required.
