We are looking for an experienced Communications Manager to join Wisk’s Marketing Department. In this role, you will be responsible for building brand recognition and reputation to advance Wisk’s leadership position in the industry, identifying corporate narratives and technical milestones and bringing them to life internally and externally, and shaping and executing internal & employee communication strategies to foster Wisk’s innovative and safety-oriented culture. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to work with the broader Marketing Team on strategic campaigns, events and aircraft displays, social media and digital marketing, and more. ### The successful candidate has:
- Have a Bachelors degree in Communications or Marketing
- At least 6+ years of experience in corporate communications, public relations/media relations, or journalism
- Experience working in a startup environment, high growth tech company, or agency role, ideally in aerospace, AAM, transportation, electric vehicles, or autonomous vehicle industry
- Deep knowledge of the current media landscape, proven ability to build relationships with key media
- Experience & comfortability working with C-level executives
- Ability to direct and strategize with both internal cross-functional partners and external partners
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
In this role, the candidate must be:
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Solution oriented with can-do attitude (growth mindset)
- Flexible and have a high tolerance for change
- Comfortable with a culture where we are solving problems that have never been solved before
- Based in the Bay Area and able to work from our Mountain View HQ 2-3x per week
- Willing to travel to major events, speaking opps and airshows
What you will do:
- Proactively cultivate and maintain relationships with media to secure strategic press coverage and increase Wisk’s visibility
- Be the first point of contact for press inquiries for Wisk, our executives and subject matter experts
- Coordinate all onsite Media visits, coordinating across the company to ensure the visit is a success
- Work with Wisk leaders, Marketing, and Subject Matter Experts to source and develop corporate narratives and stories that support our key milestones and corporate momentum for external storytelling
- Support our external speakers with reviewing and strengthening their presentations and talking points.
- Assist with our external announcement plans, preparing press kits and determining distribution strategy
- Proactively pitch Wisk for speaking opportunities making sure Wisk is well represented
- Collaborate with the broader Marketing Team on marketing campaign distribution strategies, event marketing, social media, employee events and more.
