Week One

The Climate Problem Today

To gain an understanding of the scope and scale of the climate challenge as it stands today, we’ll review the most current research and hear from leading climate scientists working to help policy makers and the public mitigate and adapt to climate change.

A Survey of Climate Solutions

A changing climate presents opportunities to solve for adjacent challenges that touch every aspect of society. We’ll survey, analyze and opportunity-size emerging solution sets in climate mitigation to understand the most promising areas to invest time, money and attention.

The Triple Bottom Line: Measuring and seeking returns on climate, capital and society

How does solving for climate change solve for everything else, and what’s different between today’s climate tech ecosystem and “clean tech 1.0?” We’ll explore frameworks for evaluating and foreseeing pitfalls, and for identifying climate projects that deliver real, measurable multi-fold impact alongside returns.

Focus on Climate Investing

Climate is an operating system, not a single vertical. This week, we’ll dive into major climate investing verticals and conduct independent sector research to deepen our understanding of the specifics within transportation, circular economy, data, carbon markets and more.

Ensuring Climate Companies’ Success

Sitting at the intersection of science, policy and human behavior, companies have a unique set of support needs. We’ll look at how reimagining portfolio services for a climate portfolio can help increase companies’ chance of success, and help funds differentiate in an increasingly crowded market.

Telling Your Story in Climate Venture

Narrative is everything. We’ll explore how climate communications have evolved with a look at the latest data and research on proven communication strategies, and translate that to how you can tell your story as a climate investor.
